We specialize in foot care for those who have difficulty caring for the feet and toenails. Our team of nurses are trained to care for individuals with chronic conditions such as diabetes, neuropathy and vascular diseases.

Podiatry vs Foot Care Nurse
Podiatrist diagnose and treat conditions of the foot & ankle. Many no longer perform routine nail care. Foot Care nurses are trained in performing foot and nail care in a holistic approach. Foot care nurses will refer to podiatry when appropriate.
Facts
- Unfortunately Medicare will not pay for Nurses to provide foot care, therefore we do not accept insurance.
- We can work with county waivers. Please inquire.
- We are trained nurses and service individuals who are diabetic, on blood thinners or have other chronic conditions.
- We can trim fingernails. Let us know at the time of booking.
Nail Salon vs Foot Care Nurse
Nail salons offer a pedicures performed by a nail technicians. Many do not have the training of high risk clients such as seniors. Also the sterilization standards differ from those of a Foot Care Nurse. While spa pedicures are can be very relaxing, they are not recommended for high risk individuals. We offer Medical Pedicures.
- We bring all the supplies.
- Our tools are chemically sterilized or are disposable or one time use.
- Our nurses have extensive training on foot care.
- We are dementia friendly!
- We will refer to a local podiatrist as necessary
About The Owner
Katie is a registered nurse and founded The Foot Nurse, LLC in 2016. She has been a Registered Nurse for 20 years. Katie has worked as a Cardiac Nurse at United hospital, St. Joes Hospital and The VA Hospital. She has worked most of her career in Home care. During her 13 year stent as a home care nurse she saw the incredible need for foot care, but didn't feel qualified to perform nail care. Katie then sought out training at the University of Eau Claire to learn how to care for the feet of her patients. She obtained a certification for foot care and has not looked back. Katie has seen the need continue to rise and is comitted to training nurses and providing care to feet in our community.
In her free time she enjoys raising her children, gardening, reading and exercising.
